The CLEVELAND C41555 is a square-end, single-end mill designed for general-purpose milling operations in machine shop and production environments. It is manufactured from high speed steel (HSS) and features a titanium nitride (TiN) coating to extend tool life and improve surface finish. The cutter measures 0.5 inches in diameter with a 1-inch length of cut and a 3.25-inch overall length. The 30-degree spiral flute geometry and 2-flute configuration promote efficient chip evacuation, making this end mill well suited for slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling on a range of workpiece materials. Licensed machinists, toolroom operators, and CNC setup techs are the primary users.
This end mill is rated for primary use in cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and steel. The 0.5-inch straight cylindrical shank with a Weldon flat allows secure clamping in standard end mill holders and set-screw collet systems. The regular-length geometry fits most vertical machining center spindles and manual knee mills without requiring extended-reach tooling. It is a right-hand cut, right-hand flute design compatible with conventional clockwise spindle rotation.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit tooling option for standard 0.5-inch end mill holders, ER collet chucks accepting a 0.5-inch shank, and Weldon-style set-screw tool holders used in vertical machining centers and manual milling machines. Primary workpiece materials are cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and steel (material codes K, N, P). Part of the Cleveland HG-2 series.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup personnel. Power down and de-energize the machine spindle completely before seating or removing the tool. Torque the set screw or collet nut to the tool holder manufacturer specification and verify runout with a dial indicator before cutting. Inspect the cutting edges for chips or coating damage before each use, and never exceed the manufacturer-recommended speeds and feeds for the workpiece material.
