The CLEVELAND C41260 is a 4-flute, high speed steel square end mill designed for material removal in milling operations across a range of ferrous and non-ferrous workpieces. With a 0.625-inch mill diameter and a 1.625-inch length of cut, it handles slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling in standard machining setups. The straight cylindrical shank with Weldon flat accommodates standard end mill holders and milling chucks. The 30-degree helix angle and spiral flute geometry promote chip evacuation and stable cutting action. This is a centercutting tool, allowing direct plunge entry into the workpiece without a pre-drilled hole. It belongs to the HG-4C series, which is oriented toward general-purpose high speed steel end milling.
The C41260 is suited for use on manual mills and CNC machining centers in job shop and production environments. Its uncoated HSS construction makes it appropriate for cutting cast iron, non-ferrous metals such as aluminum and copper alloys, and steel. Right-hand cut, right-hand flute geometry is the standard configuration for conventional and climb milling passes. This tool is typically installed by machinists and tool-and-die professionals working in metalworking, fabrication, and maintenance machining applications.
Rated for primary workpiece materials including cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and steel. Compatible with standard end mill holders and Weldon-flat collet systems sized for a 0.625-inch shank diameter.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist following the machine tool manufacturer guidelines and shop safety procedures. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is locked out before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully in the holder and tighten the set screw against the Weldon flat to the holder manufacturer specification. Confirm runout with a dial indicator before beginning the cut.
