The CLEVELAND C41257 is a 4-flute, single-end square end mill designed for general-purpose milling in a machine shop environment. Built from high speed steel (HSS), it carries a 0.5-inch cutting diameter with a 1.25-inch length of cut and a 3.25-inch overall length. The spiral flute geometry and 30-degree helix angle promote smooth chip evacuation, while the centercutting design allows for plunge milling operations. The straight cylindrical shank with Weldon flat accepts standard end mill holders and collet chucks. This tool is intended for use by machinists and tool-and-die professionals on manual or CNC milling machines.
The C41257 belongs to the CLEVELAND HG-4C series and is suited for milling cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and steel. The right-hand cut and right-hand flute configuration is the standard orientation for conventional and climb milling operations. The regular-length profile makes it a practical choice for face milling, slotting, and peripheral milling passes where extended reach is not required. Typical applications include production shops, maintenance facilities, and toolroom work on ferrous and non-ferrous workpieces.
Designed for use with cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and steel workpieces. Part of the CLEVELAND HG-4C series. Accepts standard 0.5-inch end mill holders and collet chucks with Weldon flat capability.
Installation is performed by machinists on milling machines; the machine spindle must be fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Secure the shank in a properly sized collet or end mill holder, torquing set screws against the Weldon flat to prevent pull-out during operation. Always verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut. Use appropriate cutting fluid for the workpiece material to extend tool life and maintain dimensional accuracy.
