The CLEVELAND C41250 is a 4-flute, high speed steel square end mill designed for precise milling operations in metalworking applications. With a 5/16-inch cutting diameter and a 3/4-inch length of cut, this tool delivers reliable performance in slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling. The 30-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation while maintaining smooth cutting action. It accepts a 3/8-inch straight cylindrical or Weldon flat shank and measures 2.5 inches in overall length. Centercutting geometry allows plunge entry directly into the workpiece. This tool is uncoated and suited for general-purpose use by machinists and tool-and-die tradespeople in both shop and production environments.
The C41250 belongs to the Cleveland HG-4C series, a line of high speed steel end mills built for regular-length milling work. It is designed for use on cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and steel. Typical applications include manual milling machines, knee mills, and CNC machining centers running moderate cutting speeds appropriate for uncoated HSS tooling. The right-hand cut and right-hand spiral flute configuration is the standard orientation for conventional vertical mill setups.
Designed as a regular-length replacement or working end mill for standard 3/8-inch collets, Weldon-style set-screw holders, and end mill holders used on vertical milling machines and CNC machining centers.
Installation of end mills should be performed by a qualified machinist following shop safety procedures. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down before changing tooling. Confirm the shank seats fully in the tool holder and the Weldon flat, if used, is aligned with the set screw before tightening. Follow the tool manufacturer and machine builder guidelines for appropriate runout tolerances and cutting parameters for HSS tooling.
