The CLEVELAND C40347 is a single-end corner radius end mill engineered for finishing operations on non-ferrous metals. Built from powdered metal (PM) with a TiCN (Titanium Carbonitride) PVD coating, it delivers wear resistance and edge retention in demanding milling applications. The cutter measures 3/4 inch in diameter with a 0.06 inch corner radius, a 1.625 inch length of cut, and an overall length of 3.875 inches. The 3-flute, right-hand spiral geometry with a high helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth surface finish. It is center-cutting, allowing plunge entry, and features a Weldon Flat shank for positive drive in compatible toolholders.
This end mill is suited for finishing passes on non-ferrous workpiece materials including aluminum alloys, copper, and similar materials. The PM-539R series is designed for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills where a secure Weldon Flat toolholder is available. The corner radius geometry reduces corner chipping and extends tool life compared to sharp-corner styles, making it a practical choice for profiling, slotting, and peripheral milling operations in production and job-shop environments. Machinists and toolroom technicians are the primary users of this cutter.
Designed for use with Weldon Flat toolholders. Primary workpiece material compatibility is non-ferrous metal (Material Application Code: N). Part of the CLEVELAND PM-539R series.
This end mill is installed by a machinist or toolroom technician into a Weldon Flat toolholder; verify that the flat on the shank is aligned with the set screw before tightening. Confirm spindle RPM and feed rate are set per the shop's speeds-and-feeds reference for the specific non-ferrous material being cut before engaging the cutter. Inspect the cutting edges and corner radius for chipping or wear before each use. Never run the tool in the wrong spindle direction — this cutter requires right-hand rotation.
