The CLEVELAND C39655 is a single-end, square-profile end mill designed for general-purpose milling in metalworking and machining applications. Built from high speed steel (HSS), it features a 3/4-inch cutting diameter, a 1-5/8-inch length of cut, and three spiral flutes with a 30-degree helix angle. The centercutting geometry allows both plunge and peripheral cuts. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute orientation follow standard milling conventions. The straight-cylindrical shank with Weldon flat accommodates standard end mill holders and set-screw chucks. This tool is suited for machinists, tool-and-die shops, and general machine shops performing roughing and finishing passes on a variety of metals.
The C39655 is designed for use on vertical mills, knee mills, and CNC machining centers where HSS tooling is appropriate. It performs on cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and steel workpieces. The HG-3 Series designation places it in a regular-length category with a 3/4-inch shank matching the cutting diameter, keeping the tool balanced and minimizing runout in standard collet or Weldon-flat holders. At 3-7/8 inches overall length, it fits most standard spindle setups without requiring extended reach clearance.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use end mill compatible with standard 3/4-inch end mill holders, collet chucks, and Weldon-flat side-lock holders used in vertical and CNC milling setups. Suitable for cutting cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and steel per the manufacturer specifications for this series.
Installation is performed by machinists familiar with milling machine tooling setup. Ensure the spindle is fully powered down and the machine is locked out before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the holder and torque set screws evenly against the Weldon flat to prevent axial pullout. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut, particularly for finish passes where dimensional accuracy is critical.
