The CLEVELAND C39166 is a double-end ball end mill designed for precision milling operations in metalworking applications. Built from high speed steel (HSS) and coated with titanium carbonitride (TiCN), it delivers improved wear resistance and longer tool life compared to uncoated HSS tooling. The 0.375-inch diameter cutting end features a 2-flute spiral geometry with a 30-degree helix angle, optimizing chip evacuation and surface finish in finishing passes. At 3.5 inches overall length with a 0.5625-inch length of cut, this tool fits standard end mill holders and collet chucks commonly found in vertical machining centers and manual knee mills. Installation and use is handled by machinists and CNC operators working in job shops, production facilities, and maintenance environments.
This end mill is suited for finishing operations on cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and steel. The double-end configuration extends usable tool life by providing a second cutting end when the first dulls, reducing per-cut tooling cost. The right-hand cut and right-hand flute direction make it compatible with standard spindle rotation on most machining centers and manual mills. The HD-2B series designation indicates a heavy-duty double-end ball nose design intended for demanding material removal in finishing applications.

This tool is installed and operated by machinists and CNC operators. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Secure the shank firmly in a clean, properly sized collet or end mill holder to the appropriate drawbar torque per the machine manufacturer specification. Inspect the cutting edges for chips or wear before each use, particularly when switching to the second end of a double-end tool.
