The CLEVELAND C39120 is a two-flute, single-end square end mill machined from high speed steel (HSS) and finished with a titanium carbonitride (TiCN) coating. It is built to the HG-2 long series specification, with a 0.625-inch milling diameter, a 2-inch length of cut (LOC), and a 4.125-inch overall length (OAL). The spiral flute geometry combined with a 30-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. The centercutting design allows the tool to plunge directly into the workpiece. A straight cylindrical shank with a Weldon flat accommodates standard end mill holders and set-screw retention systems.
This end mill is suited for milling operations in cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and steel. The long LOC makes it appropriate for slotting, profiling, and side milling where extended reach into a workpiece or deep slot clearance is required. The right-hand cut and right-hand flute configuration is standard for conventional CNC machining centers and manual knee mills. The TiCN coating adds surface hardness and reduces friction at the cutting edge, extending tool life in ferrous and abrasive workpiece materials. Machinists working in job shops, maintenance environments, or production settings will find this a direct-running general-purpose tool.
Designed for use on cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and steel workpieces. Compatible with standard end mill holders accepting a 0.625-inch straight cylindrical shank with Weldon flat. Suitable for CNC machining centers and manual milling machines running right-hand spindle rotation.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists. Secure the shank fully into the holder so the Weldon flat engages the set screw and the tool reaches the minimum recommended grip depth before locking. Confirm spindle rotation is set to right-hand before engaging the cut. Inspect the cutting edges for chips or wear before each use, and follow applicable shop safety procedures and machine manufacturer guidelines for speeds, feeds, and coolant application.
