The CLEVELAND C39051 is a double-end, square-profile end mill designed for precision milling in metalworking applications. Manufactured from high speed steel with a titanium carbonitride (TiCN) finish, it delivers improved surface hardness and wear resistance compared to uncoated HSS tooling. The cutter measures 0.1875 inches (3/16 inch) in diameter with a 9/32-inch length of cut and a 3/8-inch straight-cylindrical shank compatible with standard collets and Weldon flat holders. A 30-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation. Licensed machinists and tool-and-die professionals are the primary installers of this tooling in manual and CNC milling operations.
The C39051 is suited for milling cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and steel in both production and maintenance shop environments. Its stub-length profile provides added rigidity in tight setups where overhang must be minimized. The double-end design allows the operator to index to a fresh cutting end when one end dulls, extending usable tool life. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute geometry follows the most common milling machine spindle convention, making this a straightforward drop-in for general-purpose slotting, profiling, and plunge-capable operations.
Designed for use with standard milling machine spindles accepting a 3/8-inch straight shank. Primary workpiece materials include cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and steel as designated by material codes K, N, and P.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists following standard toolroom practices. Power down and lock out the milling machine spindle before mounting or removing the cutter. Ensure the shank is fully seated and the collet or Weldon flat set screw is tightened to the tool holder manufacturer's specification before operation. Inspect the cutting edges for chips or wear before each use; do not operate a visibly damaged end mill.
