The CLEVELAND C39029 is a single-end ball end mill designed for finishing operations in ferrous materials including cast iron and steel. Built from high speed steel with a titanium carbonitride (TiCN) coating, this tool delivers improved hardness and wear resistance compared to uncoated HSS. The 0.25 inch diameter cutting head paired with a 0.625 inch length of cut makes it well suited for profiling, contouring, and slotting passes where a tight radius and controlled chip evacuation are priorities. Two right-hand spiral flutes at a 30-degree helix angle promote smooth cutting action and efficient chip flow in both manual and CNC milling setups.
This end mill is used in machining environments where contoured surfaces and radiused pockets are required. Its regular-length geometry fits standard tool holders and collet chucks without extended reach requirements. The 0.375 inch shank diameter accommodates common collet sizes found on knee mills, vertical machining centers, and CNC routers. Typical applications include die and mold work, fixture fabrication, and general-purpose finishing cuts in steel and cast iron components. Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit tooling option for standard end mill holders and collet chucks accepting a 0.375 inch shank diameter in vertical milling and CNC machining applications.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe, de-energized state before loading or unloading tooling. Secure the shank fully within the collet or end mill holder to the manufacturer-specified engagement depth to prevent pullout. Inspect the cutting edges for chips or coating damage before use, and follow facility-specific speeds and feeds guidelines for the workpiece material.
