The CLEVELAND C33834 is a 2-flute, single-end square end mill designed for material removal and profiling operations in ferrous and non-ferrous machining applications. It is manufactured from high speed steel with a TiCN (titanium carbonitride) finish that increases surface hardness and wear resistance compared to uncoated HSS tooling. The cutter measures 39/64 inch (0.6094 inches) in diameter with a 1-1/8 inch length of cut and a 3-3/8 inch overall length. The straight cylindrical shank with Weldon flat is 1/2 inch in diameter. This tool is part of the HG-2 series and is suited for job shops and production environments running manual or CNC vertical mills.
The C33834 is intended for milling cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and steel in general-purpose machining scenarios. Its centercutting geometry allows it to plunge directly into workpiece material, making it suitable for slot milling, peripheral milling, and pocketing operations. The right-hand cut and right-hand spiral flute configuration is the standard orientation for conventional vertical milling setups. A 30-degree helix angle promotes chip evacuation and reduces cutting forces across the supported work materials.
Designed as a general-purpose replacement or production end mill for vertical milling machines and CNC machining centers using a 1/2 inch collet, end mill holder, or Weldon-style set-screw chuck. Compatible with cast iron, non-ferrous metal, and steel workpiece materials per HG-2 series specification.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle powered off and machine in an e-stop or locked-out state per applicable machine guarding and OSHA lockout/tagout procedures. Seat the Weldon flat against the set screw in the holder to prevent axial pullout under load. Verify runout at the cutter diameter after tool installation before engaging the workpiece. Do not exceed the rated length-of-cut range of 1.0 to 1.25 inches when programming axial depth of cut.
