The CLEVELAND C33827 is a 2-flute high speed steel (HSS) square end mill designed for metal removal in milling operations across a range of common workpiece materials. It carries a TiCN (titanium carbonitride) finish that increases surface hardness and wear resistance compared to uncoated HSS. With a 0.5 inch diameter, a 1 inch length of cut, and a 3.25 inch overall length, it fits standard milling machine and machining center toolholders in the half-inch shank range. The right-hand cut, right-hand spiral flute geometry and centercutting capability allow plunge entry as well as peripheral and slot milling. Installed by machinists and tool-and-die professionals, this end mill is part of Cleveland's HG-2 series.
The C33827 is suited for milling cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and steel in general-purpose production and maintenance machining environments. Its regular length profile and straight cylindrical shank with Weldon flat work with standard side-lock and collet-style toolholders. A 30-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. This end mill is appropriate for both manual knee mills and CNC machining centers handling roughing and finishing cuts at moderate feeds and speeds appropriate to HSS tooling.
Designed for use with cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and steel workpieces. Compatible with standard 0.5 inch bore side-lock holders and collet chucks on manual and CNC milling machines. No specific machine model compatibility was stated by the manufacturer for this part number.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following shop safety procedures. Secure the shank fully into the toolholder, engaging the Weldon flat set screw to prevent axial pullout under cutting loads. Verify runout with a dial indicator before initiating a cut. Always power down and lock out the spindle before changing tooling.
