The CLEVELAND C33783 is a square end mill designed for material removal and profile milling in machining applications. Built from high speed steel (HSS) with a titanium nitride (TiN) finish, it offers improved surface hardness and wear resistance over uncoated HSS tooling. The mill features a 3/4 inch cutting diameter, a 1-5/16 inch length of cut, and a 1/2 inch straight cylindrical shank with a Weldon flat for secure tool holding. With 2 flutes and a 30-degree helix angle, this end mill is suited for general-purpose roughing and finishing cuts. It is centercutting, allowing plunge entry into workpieces. Machinists and CNC operators handling production and job-shop work will find this tool appropriate for a wide range of milling tasks.
The C33783 belongs to the Cleveland HG-2 series, which is engineered for use on cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and steel. The overall length is 3-5/8 inches, making it a regular-length tool compatible with standard toolholders and collet chucks on vertical machining centers and manual knee mills. It is well suited for slot milling, side milling, and peripheral cuts where a 2-flute geometry provides chip clearance. The right-hand cut and right-hand spiral flute configuration is standard for conventional CNC spindle operation.

Installation and tool changes must be performed with the spindle fully stopped and the machine in a locked-out state per shop lockout/tagout procedures. Seat the Weldon flat against the set screw in the holder to prevent axial pullout under cutting loads. Verify runout at the tool tip before starting cuts, as excessive runout accelerates tool wear and reduces surface finish quality. Machinists should confirm feed rate, depth of cut, and spindle speed are appropriate for the workpiece material and machine rigidity before engaging the cut.
