The CLEVELAND C33699 is a double-end, two-flute square end mill manufactured from high speed steel with a TiCN (titanium carbonitride) coating. It carries a 9/32-inch cutting diameter, a 9/16-inch length of cut, and a 3/8-inch straight-cylindrical shank with a Weldon flat for positive drive retention. The 30-degree spiral flute geometry promotes efficient chip evacuation and reduces heat buildup during cuts. At 3-3/8 inches overall length, this is a regular-length tool intended for general-purpose milling operations. Licensed machinists and tool-and-die professionals install and operate this end mill in standard milling machines and machining centers.
The C33699 is designed for use on cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and steel workpieces, covering a broad range of production and job-shop milling scenarios. Its centercutting design allows plunge cutting in addition to peripheral and slot milling. The double-end configuration extends usable tool life by providing two cutting ends per tool. This end mill fits residential toolroom, production shop, and maintenance machining applications where a compact, medium-diameter tool is required.
Designed for use in standard milling machine and machining center end mill holders accepting a 3/8-inch straight shank with Weldon flat. Suitable for cutting cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and steel. Part of the Cleveland HD-2 series of high speed steel end mills.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist with the machine powered off and the spindle locked. Secure the shank fully into the holder so the Weldon flat aligns with the setscrew to prevent axial pullout under load. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning production cuts. Follow the machine manufacturer and tooling supplier recommendations for speed and feed rates based on workpiece material and depth of cut.
