The CLEVELAND C33684 is a double-end square end mill designed for general-purpose milling in metal fabrication and machining environments. Built from High Speed Steel (HSS) with a Titanium Nitride (TiN) finish, it offers improved surface hardness and wear resistance over uncoated HSS tooling. The cutter measures 0.875 inches in diameter with a 1.5625-inch length of cut and a 6.125-inch overall length. Its 30-degree helix spiral flute geometry promotes efficient chip evacuation during slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling operations. This tool is installed and changed out by machinists and CNC operators working in job shops, tool rooms, and production machining cells.
The C33684 is suited for use in vertical machining centers, knee mills, and manual milling machines where a 7/8-inch shank diameter is compatible with the spindle or collet system. The double-end design extends tool life by providing two usable cutting ends. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute orientation make it compatible with standard spindle rotation. The regular-length classification places it in the length-of-cut range of 1.5 to 2.0 inches, appropriate for moderate-depth slotting and shoulder milling without excessive overhang.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit cutting tool for milling machines and machining centers accepting a 7/8-inch straight shank, compatible with standard collets, end mill holders, and Weldon-style set-screw holders of the same bore diameter.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist with the machine in a powered-off, locked-out state. Secure the shank fully within the holder to the recommended insertion depth before tightening to prevent pullout under cutting loads. Inspect the collet or holder bore for chips or wear before seating the tool. Follow shop-standard feeds and speeds for HSS tooling on the workpiece material being cut.
