The CLEVELAND C33420 is a 4-flute square end mill engineered for high-performance milling in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Built from high speed steel with a titanium carbonitride (TiCN) finish, it delivers improved surface hardness and wear resistance compared to uncoated HSS tooling. The 1-inch cutting diameter pairs with a 4-inch length of cut and a 30-degree helix angle in a spiral flute geometry that promotes efficient chip evacuation. At 6.5 inches overall length with a 1-inch straight-cylindrical shank, this tool seats securely in standard end mill holders and Weldon flat-style collet chucks. Center-cutting geometry allows plunge entry, giving machinists added versatility in slotting and profiling operations. It is a right-hand cut, right-hand flute configuration in the Cleveland HG-4C series.
This end mill is suited for use in manual knee mills and CNC machining centers in job shop, toolroom, and production environments. Primary workpiece materials include cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and steel. The regular-length classification and 2-inch-plus length-of-cut range make it a practical choice for full-depth slotting, peripheral milling, and profiling passes where a general-purpose HSS tool is specified.
