The CLEVELAND C33389 is a 4-flute square end mill designed for general-purpose milling in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Built from high speed steel (HSS) with a titanium nitride (TiN) finish, it delivers improved surface hardness and wear resistance compared to uncoated HSS tooling. The cutter measures 11/32 inch (0.3438 inches) in diameter with a 1-1/2 inch length of cut and a 3/8 inch straight-cylindrical shank that also accepts a Weldon flat drive. A 30-degree helix angle and spiral flute geometry promote efficient chip evacuation. This is a centercutting end mill, meaning it can plunge directly into workpiece material. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals are the primary users.
The C33389 belongs to CLEVELAND's HG-4C series and is suited for milling operations on cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and steel. Typical applications include slotting, peripheral milling, and profiling on manual mills and CNC machining centers. The regular-length configuration and 3-1/4 inch overall length make it well suited for general workpiece access without excessive overhang. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute orientation are standard for conventional machine spindle rotation.
Designed for use on cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and steel workpieces. Compatible with standard 3/8 inch straight-shank tool holders and Weldon flat set-screw holders used on manual knee mills and CNC machining centers.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following shop safety procedures. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the tool holder and tighten the set screw against the Weldon flat if using that holder style; verify runout with a dial indicator before cutting. Do not exceed the manufacturer-rated speeds and feeds for HSS tooling in the selected workpiece material.
