The CLEVELAND C33387 is a 4-flute, square-end, single-end mill designed for material removal and finishing in ferrous and non-ferrous machining applications. Ground from high speed steel (HSS) and finished with a titanium nitride (TiN) coating, it offers improved surface hardness and wear resistance over uncoated HSS tooling. The cutter measures 9/32 inch (0.2813 inch) in diameter with a 1-3/8 inch length of cut and a 3/8 inch straight-cylindrical shank with a Weldon flat. Overall length is 3-1/8 inches. The 30-degree right-hand spiral flute geometry promotes efficient chip evacuation. Centercutting construction allows plunge entry directly into the workpiece.
This end mill is suited for milling slots, pockets, profiles, and contours in cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and steel. The HG-4C series regular-length configuration is a practical choice for general-purpose CNC and manual milling operations where a smaller diameter, high-precision cutter is required. The 9/32 inch diameter makes it well-suited for tight-tolerance slot work and detailed profiling where larger tooling cannot reach. Licensed machinists and tool-and-die professionals are the typical end users.
The C33387 is designed for use with standard 3/8 inch straight-shank or Weldon-flat end mill holders on CNC machining centers and manual milling machines. No specific machine model compatibility was provided in the product data.
Install the end mill into a clean, properly sized 3/8 inch collet or Weldon-flat holder and torque the set screw against the flat per the holder manufacturer's specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before cutting to maximize tool life and surface finish quality. Always power down and lock out the spindle before changing tooling. Follow applicable shop safety standards and machine manufacturer guidelines for speed and feed recommendations based on workpiece material.
