The CLEVELAND C33267 is a 4-flute, single-end square end mill ground from high speed steel and finished with a titanium carbonitride (TiCN) coating. It features a 9/16-inch cutting diameter, a 1-3/8-inch length of cut, and a 1/2-inch straight cylindrical shank with a Weldon flat for positive drive retention. The spiral flute geometry and 30-degree helix angle promote efficient chip evacuation across a range of workpiece materials. The centercutting design allows plunge entry, giving machinists flexibility in toolpath strategy. At 3-3/8 inches overall length, this is a standard regular-length tool suited to general-purpose milling operations.
This end mill is designed for milling cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and steel in manual and CNC machining environments. The TiCN coating provides increased surface hardness and lubricity compared to uncoated HSS, extending tool life in moderate-duty cutting applications. The right-hand cut and right-hand spiral flute configuration is the standard orientation for conventional vertical milling machines and machining centers. It fits the HG-4C series from CLEVELAND, a line of general-purpose HSS end mills intended for production and maintenance shop use.
Designed for use in standard 1/2-inch end mill holders, collet chucks, and Weldon-style set-screw tool holders on vertical milling machines and CNC machining centers. Primary workpiece materials include cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and steel as specified by the manufacturer.
Installation and tool changes must be performed with the machine spindle fully stopped and locked out per applicable shop safety procedures. Seat the Weldon flat squarely against the set screw in the tool holder to prevent axial pullout under cutting loads. Verify runout with a dial indicator before commencing cuts, as excessive runout accelerates flute wear and reduces surface finish quality. Cutting parameters such as feed rate, depth of cut, and spindle speed should be selected based on workpiece material, machine rigidity, and coolant availability.
