The CLEVELAND C33160 is a 4-flute, square-end, single-end mill manufactured from high speed steel (HSS). It carries a 1/2-inch cutting diameter, a 1-inch length of cut (LOC), and a 3/8-inch straight-cylindrical shank with a Weldon flat for positive rotational grip. Overall length is 2-11/16 inches. The spiral flute geometry and 30-degree helix angle promote efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action across a range of workpiece materials. This is an uncoated, right-hand cut, right-hand flute tool suited to general-purpose milling operations in a machine shop or production environment.
The C33160 is rated for use in cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and steel. Its centercutting design allows plunge milling as well as conventional peripheral and slot milling. The regular-length body keeps deflection low in standard depth-of-cut applications. Machinists, tool-and-die makers, and CNC operators working with knee mills, vertical machining centers, or manual milling machines will find this a practical general-purpose HSS end mill for everyday stock removal and contouring work.
Designed as a standard-fitment replacement or direct selection for 1/2-inch diameter, 3/8-inch shank end mill applications in the CLEVELAND HG-4C series. Compatible with any milling machine or machining center equipped with a collet, end mill holder, or Weldon-style set-screw holder accepting a 3/8-inch shank diameter.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator following the machine tool manufacturer's tooling procedures. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before loading or removing the tool. Seat the shank fully into the holder and torque the set screw against the Weldon flat per the holder manufacturer's specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before commencing cuts, particularly for close-tolerance work.
