The CLEVELAND C33143 is a 4-flute, square-end, high speed steel end mill designed for material removal and finishing operations on milling machines and CNC machining centers. It carries an 11/64-inch (0.1719 inch decimal) cutting diameter and a 1/2-inch length of cut, mounted on a 3/8-inch straight cylindrical shank with a Weldon flat for positive drive retention. The 30-degree helix angle promotes chip evacuation and smooth cutting action across a range of workpiece materials. At 2-3/8 inches overall length, this is a regular-length tool suited for standard-reach applications where rigidity is a priority. It is installed and used by machinists, tool-and-die makers, and CNC operators.
The C33143 is rated for use on cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and steel workpieces. Its center-cutting geometry allows direct plunge entry as well as conventional peripheral milling, making it useful for slotting, profiling, and pocket milling operations. Right-hand cut and right-hand spiral flute configuration aligns with standard spindle rotation on most vertical milling equipment. It carries no coating, which makes re-sharpening straightforward and keeps tool cost low for general shop use.
Designed for use in milling chucks, Weldon-flat end mill holders, and collet chucks accepting a 3/8-inch shank diameter. Suitable for cast iron, non-ferrous metal, and steel workpiece materials per Series HG-4C application ratings.
A licensed or trained machinist should install and operate end mills using appropriate speed and feed parameters for the workpiece material and machine capability. Secure the Weldon flat against the set screw in the tool holder before spindle engagement; never run a tool that is not fully seated and clamped. Inspect the cutting edges for chipping or wear before each use and replace or resharpen when wear land becomes visible. Follow shop safety protocols including eye protection and guarding whenever the spindle is in motion.
