The CLEVELAND C33128 is a double-end, four-flute square end mill designed for high-performance material removal in ferrous and non-ferrous machining applications. Manufactured from high speed steel with a titanium carbonitride (TiCN) finish, this tool delivers improved surface hardness and wear resistance compared to uncoated HSS. The 5/8-inch cutting diameter and 1-3/8-inch length of cut make it well suited for slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling at moderate depths. With a 30-degree helix angle and centercutting capability, the C33128 handles plunge entry and ramp-in operations without a pre-drilled pilot hole. The straight cylindrical shank with Weldon flat accommodates standard side-lock holders.
This end mill is suited for use on manual mills and CNC machining centers in job shop, toolroom, and production environments. Primary workpiece materials include cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and steel. The double-end design provides two usable cutting ends, extending tool life per unit before regrind or replacement becomes necessary. It is typically installed by machinists and tool-and-die professionals working in light to medium cutting conditions on steels and cast alloys.
Designed for use in standard 5/8-inch end mill holders or Weldon-flat side-lock holders. Suitable for slotting and profiling operations on cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and steel workpieces as part of the Cleveland HD-4C series.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following machine tool manufacturer guidelines. Secure the shank fully within the holder to the recommended engagement depth, using the Weldon flat against the setscrew to prevent pullout under load. Verify spindle direction is set to right-hand rotation before engaging the cut. Inspect the tool for chipping or wear at each end before use and do not exceed manufacturer-rated depth-of-cut parameters for the workpiece material.
