The CLEVELAND C33099 is a double-end, centercutting square end mill designed for general-purpose milling operations in machine shop and production environments. Built from high speed steel with a titanium nitride (TiN) finish, it offers improved surface hardness and wear resistance over uncoated HSS tooling. The 1-inch diameter cutting end pairs with a 1-inch straight-cylindrical shank with Weldon flat, delivering secure tool holding in standard end mill holders. Four spiral flutes at a 30-degree helix angle promote efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. With a 1-7/8-inch length of cut and 6-3/8-inch overall length, this is a regular-length tool suited for slots, pockets, and peripheral milling on ferrous and non-ferrous workpieces.
This end mill is rated for primary workpiece materials including steel, cast iron, and non-ferrous metals, covering a wide range of common machining tasks. The double-end configuration provides two usable cutting ends per tool, extending effective tool life before replacement is needed. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute geometry are standard for conventional milling setups. Typical users include CNC machinists, manual mill operators, tool-and-die shops, and maintenance machining operations where a reliable HSS end mill is preferred over carbide in interrupted-cut or vibration-prone setups.
Designed for use in standard 1-inch end mill holders, side-lock holders with Weldon flat, or collet chucks accepting a 1-inch shank diameter. Suitable for machining steel, cast iron, and non-ferrous metals. Part of the Cleveland HD-4C series of high speed steel end mills.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Ensure the spindle is fully powered down and the machine is locked out before changing tooling. Seat the Weldon flat against the set screw in side-lock holders to prevent axial pullout under load. Verify runout with a dial indicator after tool installation before taking cuts, particularly for close-tolerance work.
