The CLEVELAND C32904 is a double-end, two-flute cobalt square end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding materials. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel and finished with a TiCN (titanium carbonitride) coating, it delivers extended tool life when cutting stainless steel, carbon steel, and high-temperature alloys. The 0.5 inch cutting diameter pairs with a 13/16 inch length of cut, making it well-suited for slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling operations. The spiral flute geometry with a 30-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and reduces cutting forces. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute configuration follow standard mill orientation. This tool is installed and operated by machinists, tool-and-die makers, and CNC machine operators.
The C32904 is built for milling stainless steel, steel alloys, and high-temperature alloys in both conventional and CNC machining centers. Its center-cutting design allows plunge entry, which expands its use to ramping and helical interpolation operations. The HDC-2 series targets applications where tool wear is accelerated by heat and abrasion, making the TiCN finish and M42 substrate a practical combination for production environments. Both ends are usable, extending tool value in high-volume shops.
Designed for use in machining centers and manual mills with 0.5 inch collet chucks, end mill holders, or Weldon flat side-lock holders. Primary workpiece materials are high-temperature alloys, stainless steel, and steel (material codes S, M, P). Part of the Cleveland HDC-2 series regular-length end mill family.
Install into a properly sized end mill holder or collet chuck, ensuring the Weldon flat is seated against the set screw when using a side-lock holder. Confirm runout at the spindle before cutting to maximize edge life. Follow machine manufacturer torque specifications for drawbar and toolholder fasteners. Inspect both cutting ends before use and rotate to the second end only when the first shows visible wear.
