The CLEVELAND C32702 is a 4-flute cobalt square end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding metal-cutting applications. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel and finished with a titanium nitride (TiN) coating, this tool delivers improved wear resistance and heat tolerance compared to standard HSS end mills. It measures 5/16 inch in diameter with a 2-inch length of cut and a 3-3/4-inch overall length. The right-hand cut, right-hand spiral flute geometry and centercutting capability allow both peripheral and plunge milling. This tool is installed and run by machinists and tool-and-die professionals on manual mills and CNC machining centers.
This end mill is suited for milling high-temperature alloys, stainless steel, and carbon and alloy steels. The HGC-4C series extra-long length of cut is particularly useful for deep-pocket and slotting operations where standard-length tooling cannot reach. The 30-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action in ferrous materials. The straight cylindrical shank with Weldon flat accommodates standard side-lock holders and collet chucks commonly found in production and job-shop environments.
Designed for use in standard milling machine spindles and CNC machining centers accepting a 3/8-inch straight or Weldon-flat shank. Primary workpiece materials are high-temperature alloys, stainless steel, and steel as specified by the manufacturer for the HGC-4C series.
Installation and operation should be performed by qualified machinists familiar with cutting tool setup and machine tool operation. Confirm the toolholder is rated for the shank diameter and that the set screw or collet is properly torqued to the toolholder manufacturer specification before running. Verify spindle speed and feed rate are appropriate for the workpiece material and tool diameter before engaging the cut. Inspect the cutting edges for wear or chipping before each use and replace the tool if damage is detected.
