The CLEVELAND C32663 is a cobalt square end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding industrial applications. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel, this single-end tool features a TiN (titanium nitride) coating that increases surface hardness and extends tool life in abrasive materials. The 4-flute, right-hand spiral geometry with a 30-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and a stable cutting action. At 0.5 inches in diameter with a 2-inch length of cut and 4-inch overall length, this is a long-series end mill suited for reaching deeper features in workpiece geometry. Centercutting capability allows plunge entry directly into the workpiece.
The C32663 is intended for machining high-temperature alloys, stainless steel, and steel (material codes S, M, and P). The long-series HGC-4C configuration makes it a practical choice for mold work, die work, and deep-pocket profiling where standard-length tools cannot reach. The straight-cylindrical shank with Weldon flat accommodates standard end mill holders and set-screw style toolholding systems common in CNC machining centers and manual knee mills.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct application tool for standard 0.5-inch end mill holders; compatible with machining operations on high-temperature alloys, stainless steel, and steel as defined by material codes S, M, and P in the HGC-4C series.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully stopped and machine power locked out per shop safety procedures. Ensure the Weldon flat is properly aligned with the set screw in the tool holder to prevent axial pullout under cutting loads. Verify runout with a dial indicator before production cuts, particularly in long-series applications where deflection is more pronounced. Follow the machine tool manufacturer guidelines for speed and feed selection based on workpiece material.
