The CLEVELAND C32654 is a cobalt square end mill designed for high-performance metal removal in demanding machining applications. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel, this single-end mill features a 7/8 inch cutting diameter, 6 flutes, and a 30-degree right-hand helix for efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. The long-length configuration provides a 3-1/2 inch length of cut, making it well suited for deep-slot and deep-cavity work where standard-length tooling falls short. The bright/uncoated finish is typical of cobalt tooling intended for general-purpose and specialty metal machining. Licensed machinists and toolroom professionals are the primary users of this tool.
This end mill is engineered for machining high-temperature alloys, stainless steel, and steel — material categories that demand the elevated hot hardness and wear resistance that M42 cobalt steel provides. The HGC-4C series design is center-cutting, allowing plunge entry in addition to peripheral and slot milling. The straight-cylindrical shank with Weldon flat accommodates standard end mill holders and Weldon-style set-screw chucks. It is well suited for CNC machining centers and manual knee mills running in production or toolroom environments.
Designed for use in standard end mill holders and Weldon-style set-screw chucks accepting a 7/8 inch straight-cylindrical shank with Weldon flat. Primary workpiece materials include high-temperature alloys, stainless steel, and steel as specified in the product attributes.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following shop safety procedures. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before mounting or removing the tool. Seat the shank fully in the holder and torque set screws against the Weldon flat per the tool holder manufacturer's specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut, and confirm that cutting speed and feed rate are appropriate for the workpiece material and tool diameter.
