The CLEVELAND C32579 is a 4-flute cobalt square end mill designed for aggressive material removal in demanding machining applications. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel and finished with a TiN (titanium nitride) coating, it delivers extended tool life in abrasive and heat-generating cuts. The 7/32 inch (0.2188 inch) cutting diameter pairs with a 5/8 inch length of cut and a 3/8 inch straight-cylindrical shank with Weldon flat. A 30-degree spiral helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation. Centercutting geometry allows plunge entry without a pilot hole. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute configuration is standard. This tool is installed and used by machinists and tool-and-die professionals working in production and job-shop environments.
The C32579 is engineered for milling high-temperature alloys, stainless steel, and carbon and alloy steels — material groups P, M, and S in ISO classification. The HGC-4C series is a regular-length design suited for side milling, slotting, and peripheral profiling where tool rigidity and thermal resistance are critical. The 2-7/16 inch overall length fits standard collet and end mill holders used on vertical mills, CNC machining centers, and manual knee mills. It is appropriate for both roughing passes and semi-finish work in stainless and high-temp alloy stock.
Designed for use in standard 3/8 inch end mill holders, collet chucks, and Weldon-style set-screw holders on vertical milling machines and CNC machining centers. Part of the Cleveland HGC-4C regular-length series.
Installation and tool changes must be performed with the machine spindle fully stopped and the control in a safe state. Secure the Weldon flat against the holder set screw to the torque specification listed in the toolholder manufacturer's documentation — do not rely on collet friction alone with a Weldon flat shank. Verify runout with a dial indicator after seating; excessive runout accelerates edge wear and reduces surface finish quality. Follow your facility's lockout/tagout procedure before any toolholder service.
