The CLEVELAND C32521 is a cobalt square end mill designed for high-performance material removal in demanding machining applications. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel and coated with Titanium Nitride (TiN), it delivers extended tool life and heat resistance compared to standard HSS tooling. The 0.5 inch cutting diameter pairs with a 1 inch length of cut and a 30-degree right-hand helix, producing efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. Center-cutting geometry allows plunge entry as well as peripheral milling, expanding its usefulness across a range of machining strategies. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals working in production or job-shop environments will find it suited for roughing and finishing passes alike.
This end mill is intended for milling high-temperature alloys, stainless steel, and general steel workpieces. The Series HGC-2 design targets materials that generate significant heat and tool wear, making the cobalt substrate and TiN coating a practical combination for these conditions. It operates as a single-end tool with a straight-cylindrical shank that also accepts a Weldon flat drive. Overall length is 3.25 inches with a 0.5 inch shank diameter matching the cutter diameter for simplified setup in standard collets and end mill holders.
Designed for use in machining centers and manual mills with standard 0.5 inch collets, end mill holders, or Weldon-flat set-screw holders. Primary workpiece materials include high-temperature alloys, stainless steel, and steel.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists following standard toolroom practices. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully in the holder and torque set screws to the holder manufacturer specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut, as excessive runout accelerates edge wear and reduces surface finish quality.
