The CLEVELAND C32513 is a 2-flute cobalt square end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding material applications. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel and finished with a titanium nitride (TiN) coating, this tool delivers extended wear resistance and heat tolerance compared to standard HSS tooling. The 3/8 inch diameter cutting head features a 30-degree helix spiral flute geometry with a 9/16 inch length of cut, making it suitable for slotting, peripheral milling, and plunge cutting. The centercutting design allows direct plunge entry without a pre-drilled start hole. Licensed machinists and tool-and-die professionals typically select this tool when working with alloys that generate significant cutting heat.
This end mill is optimized for cutting high temperature alloys, stainless steel, and carbon and alloy steels. The HGC-2 series is engineered for applications where tool life in tough, work-hardening materials is critical. The straight cylindrical shank with Weldon flat accepts standard 3/8 inch end mill holders and allows positive torque transmission without slipping under heavy side loads. With a 2-1/2 inch overall length and regular length classification, it fits most benchtop and knee mill setups without excessive overhang.
Designed for use in standard 3/8 inch end mill holders and collet chucks on manual knee mills, CNC machining centers, and drill presses configured for milling. Primary workpiece materials are high temperature alloys, stainless steel, and steel as specified by the manufacturer.
Installation and tool changes must be performed with the machine fully stopped and the spindle locked. Secure the Weldon flat against the set screw in the holder before tightening to the holder manufacturer torque specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator after seating the tool, especially for finish milling passes. Follow applicable shop safety practices and machine manufacturer guidelines for spindle speed and feed rate selection based on workpiece material.
