The CLEVELAND C32431 is a high speed steel drill mill designed for operations that require both drilling and milling in a single tool. With a 5/16 inch cutting diameter, a 90 degree point angle, and 2 right-hand flutes, this tool handles center drilling, spot drilling, chamfering, and light milling in a single setup. The 30 degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation during cutting. It is used by machinists and tool-and-die professionals working with manual mills, CNC machining centers, and knee mills across job shop and production environments.
This drill mill is suited for applications where tool changes between drilling and end milling operations need to be minimized. The 5/16 inch diameter and 9/16 inch length of cut make it a practical choice for shallow-pocket milling, countersinking, and spot-drilling operations in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The uncoated high speed steel construction is appropriate for general-purpose cutting with standard cutting fluids or coolant.
Designed as a general-purpose drill mill for use in standard 3/8 inch tool holders, collet chucks, and end mill holders on manual and CNC milling machines.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following the machine tool manufacturer guidelines for tool holder torque and runout tolerances. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down or in a safe state before inserting or removing the tool. Verify tool holder cleanliness and shank seating before tightening. Do not exceed the recommended depth of cut for the tool diameter and material being machined.
