The CLEVELAND C32252 is a single-end square end mill designed for precision milling in ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Built from powdered metal (PM) high-speed steel, it carries a TiCN (Titanium Carbonitride) coating that increases surface hardness and reduces friction, extending tool life in demanding cutting applications. The cutter features four spiral flutes with a 30-degree right-hand helix, delivering efficient chip evacuation and a smooth finish on floor and shoulder cuts. With a 5/8 inch cutting diameter and 2-1/2 inch length of cut, this end mill handles deep-pocket and slot milling operations where reach and rigidity both matter. It is installed by machinists and toolroom operators working in CNC machining centers and manual knee mills.
The C32252 belongs to the PMRC series, CLEVELAND's powdered metal roughing and finishing line. It is suited for general-purpose milling in steels, alloy steels, and cast iron in production shop and job-shop environments. The coarse-pitch flute geometry and TiCN finish make it particularly effective in applications requiring longer run times between tool changes. The 5/8 inch straight shank accepts standard ER collets, end mill holders, and side-lock holders commonly used in both vertical and horizontal machining setups. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute orientation is standard for conventional CNC spindle rotation.
Designed as a direct-fit end mill for any machine tool spindle accepting a 5/8 inch straight shank via ER collet, end mill holder, or side-lock holder. Suitable for use in CNC vertical machining centers and manual milling machines with right-hand spindle rotation.
End mills should be installed by qualified machinists following shop tooling procedures. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is locked out before loading or changing the cutter. Seat the shank to the full recommended engagement depth in the holder — do not extend the shank beyond the collet or holder bore. Verify runout with a dial indicator after tool change to confirm proper seating before cutting.
