The CLEVELAND C31995 is a 4-flute square end mill designed for precision milling in a wide range of metalworking applications. Built from M42 powdered metal and coated with TiCN, this tool delivers wear resistance and thermal stability during aggressive cutting operations. The 3/8-inch diameter cutting head pairs with a 3/4-inch length of cut and a matching 3/8-inch straight-cylindrical shank with Weldon flat. A 37-degree spiral flute helix and right-hand cut geometry promote efficient chip evacuation. The centercutting design allows both plunge and peripheral milling without secondary tooling.
This end mill is suited for milling ferrous and non-ferrous metals across a variety of material groups, including cast iron, stainless steel, general steels, and superalloys, corresponding to workpiece material codes H, K, M, P, and S. It fits standard milling machine spindles and CNC machining centers that accept 3/8-inch shank tooling. The PM-4 series is a regular-length line intended for general-purpose slot milling, profiling, and pocket work in job shop and production environments. Machinists working with tool steel, alloy steel, stainless, and heat-resistant alloys will find the M42 substrate and TiCN coating appropriate for these demands.
Compatible with workpiece material groups H, K, M, P, and S as designated in the input specifications. Fits any milling machine or CNC machining center equipped with a 3/8-inch tool holder, collet, or Weldon-style end mill holder.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist familiar with milling cutter setup procedures. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is locked out before inserting or removing the end mill. Seat the shank fully into the holder and torque the set screw against the Weldon flat per the holder manufacturer's specifications. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut to avoid premature edge wear or tool breakage.
