The CLEVELAND C25668 is a chucking reamer designed for precision hole finishing in metalworking applications. Built from high-speed steel (HSS) with a bright, uncoated finish, it delivers accurate sizing in drilled or bored holes. The reamer measures 8.00 mm (0.3150 inches) in diameter with an overall length of 6.0 inches (152.40 mm). It features 6 straight flutes, a straight shank for direct chuck mounting, and a right-hand cutting direction. Diameter tolerance is held to +0.0001 to +0.0004 inches, making it suitable for close-tolerance work in machine shop and production environments. Machinists and tool-and-die technicians are the primary users.
This reamer is suited for general-purpose reaming operations on ferrous and non-ferrous metals in machine shop, maintenance, and light production settings. The straight flute geometry works well in through-holes and in materials that produce breakable chips. The 1.5-inch flute length accommodates typical hole depths encountered in component finishing and fixture work. It is designed for use in a drill press, milling machine, or CNC machining center where the shank can be gripped securely in a drill chuck or collet.
Designed as a standard chucking reamer for use in drill presses, milling machines, and CNC machining centers that accept a straight-shank toolholder or drill chuck. Confirm spindle chuck capacity and collet bore accommodate a straight shank at the tool diameter before installation.
Installation is performed by a machinist or toolroom technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before loading or removing the tool. Secure the straight shank firmly in a drill chuck or collet to the manufacturer-specified clamping torque for the chuck in use — no specific torque value is provided here. Apply cutting fluid appropriate to the workpiece material; dry reaming of steel is not recommended. Feed rate and spindle speed should be set per standard HSS reaming guidelines for the material being cut.
