The CLEVELAND C25552 is a straight-flute chucking reamer designed to bring drilled or bored holes to a precise final diameter. Built from high-speed steel (HSS) with a bright, uncoated finish, this reamer cuts a Letter H hole diameter of 0.266 inches. It features a straight shank for secure chuck mounting and six flutes arranged for right-hand cutting. With an overall length of 6 inches and a flute length of 1.5 inches, it is sized for general-purpose finishing work in machine shop and production environments. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals select this reamer when dimensional accuracy and a clean bore finish are required.
The C25552 is suited for finishing operations on steel, cast iron, aluminum, and similar machinable materials in both job-shop and production settings. It is used in drill presses, lathes, and CNC machining centers wherever a Letter H final bore diameter is called for. The straight flute geometry makes it well suited for through-holes and short blind-hole applications where chip evacuation is straightforward. It is sold individually and is appropriate for any application requiring a 0.266-inch reamed hole.
Designed as a general-purpose chucking reamer for use in any machine tool capable of accepting a straight-shank cutting tool, including drill presses, engine lathes, and machining centers requiring a Letter H finished bore diameter.
Chucking reamers are installed by machinists and tool-and-die technicians. Secure the straight shank firmly in a drill chuck or collet before operation, and confirm the machine spindle is fully stopped before inserting or removing the tool. Use a cutting fluid appropriate to the workpiece material to extend tool life and improve surface finish. Always pre-drill or bore the hole to within a few thousandths of final size before reaming to avoid overloading the flutes.
