The CLEVELAND C25165 is a straight-flute chucking reamer designed for precision hole finishing in metalworking and machining applications. Built from high-speed steel (HSS) with a bright, uncoated finish, this reamer produces accurate, smooth bores to a diameter of 0.1040 inches (wire size 37). The straight shank is compatible with standard drill chucks and collet holders. With an overall length of 3.5 inches and a flute length of 0.875 inches, this tool is suited for shallow-to-moderate depth reaming passes. Machinists and tool-and-die technicians reach for this reamer when dimensional accuracy and surface finish in the finished bore are the priority.
This chucking reamer is used in general-purpose machining shops, production environments, and maintenance facilities where small-diameter precision holes are required. Typical applications include reaming drilled pilot holes to final tolerance in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The right-hand cut geometry works with conventional right-hand rotation. Its compact flute length makes it appropriate for use in drill presses, manual mills, turret lathes, and CNC machining centers holding work that requires a 0.1040-inch finished bore. A four-flute design provides stable cutting action and consistent chip clearance at this diameter range.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct tooling selection for applications requiring a wire size 37 (0.1040-inch) straight-shank chucking reamer in standard drill press, lathe, or machining center setups.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists familiar with reaming procedures and machine tool operation. Secure the straight shank firmly in a properly sized drill chuck or collet before operation, and verify runout is within acceptable limits to protect bore quality and tool life. Use appropriate cutting fluid for the workpiece material to reduce heat and extend reamer life. Always bring the spindle to a complete stop before measuring or inspecting the finished bore.
