The CLEVELAND C25155 is a straight-flute chucking reamer designed for precision hole finishing in metalworking applications. Built from high-speed steel (HSS) with a bright, uncoated finish, this reamer produces accurate, smooth bores in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The reamer measures 3.5 inches in overall length with a 0.875-inch flute length and a reamer diameter of 0.0995 inches, corresponding to wire size number 39. With four flutes and a right-hand cut, it delivers consistent material removal and clean surface finishes. It is installed via a straight shank and is intended for use in drill presses, lathes, or milling machines by machinists and toolmakers.
This chucking reamer is suited for light-production and maintenance machining environments where hole size tolerance and surface finish are critical. Wire size 39 at 0.0995 inches is a common requirement in precision instrument manufacturing, small-bore fitting work, and toolroom operations. The straight flute geometry makes it appropriate for through-hole and short blind-hole reaming in materials that do not require the chip-evacuation advantages of a spiral flute.
Designed as an OEM-style chucking reamer for use in drill presses, engine lathes, turret lathes, and milling machine setups that accept straight-shank tooling in small-bore wire-size diameters.
A licensed machinist or toolroom technician should secure the straight shank in a properly sized drill chuck or collet before operation. The machine spindle must be at a controlled RPM appropriate for HSS tooling in the workpiece material, and adequate cutting fluid should be applied to extend tool life and improve surface finish. Never force the reamer into an undersized pilot hole; drill to the correct pre-ream diameter before finishing. Always power down and lock out the machine before changing or inspecting tooling.
