The CLEVELAND C16952 is a jobber-length drill bit designed for metal drilling applications that demand durability and precision. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel and coated with TiCN (titanium carbonitride), it resists heat and wear at higher cutting speeds than standard HSS tooling. The 135-degree split point reduces walking and lowers thrust on entry, making it well-suited for hard and work-hardened materials. A parabolic flute geometry promotes fast chip evacuation and helps maintain cutting efficiency through deeper holes. The straight-cylindrical shank is compatible with standard keyless and keyed drill chucks. This bit is sold individually with a minimum order quantity of 10 units per transaction.
The C16952 is sized to wire gauge 30, with a decimal diameter of 0.1285 inches, placing it in common use for precision hole work in steel, stainless, cast iron, and hard alloys. Typical applications include production drilling, maintenance and repair operations, and toolroom work where consistent hole geometry is required. The TiCN coating extends tool life in abrasive or interrupted-cut conditions. Machinists, tool-and-die technicians, and maintenance mechanics working on manual drill presses, CNC machines, or handheld power tools will find this bit appropriate for high-cycle use on ferrous and non-ferrous hard materials.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard production jobber drill bit for use in any drill press, CNC machining center, or handheld power tool equipped with a chuck accepting a 0.1285-inch straight-cylindrical shank.
Installation is performed by machinists or maintenance technicians familiar with machine tool operation. Ensure the drill press or power tool is de-energized and the chuck is fully secured before beginning any drilling operation. Use appropriate cutting fluid or lubrication when drilling hard ferrous materials to preserve coating integrity and cutting edge life. Do not exceed the rated speed range for the workpiece material to avoid premature tool failure.
