The CLEVELAND C16888 is a taper length cobalt drill bit designed for heavy-duty drilling in demanding materials. Built to Series 2575T standards, it features a 7/64 inch (0.1094 inch decimal) diameter with a 135-degree split point that reduces walking and requires no center punch on most surfaces. The M42 cobalt steel construction with a Titanium Nitride coating provides heat and wear resistance during high-speed drilling in hard and abrasive materials. The parabolic flute geometry promotes fast chip evacuation and reduces cutting friction. This bit is suited for production environments and trade shops where tool longevity and hole accuracy matter.
This drill bit is rated for use in aluminum, brass, carbon steel, cast iron, nickel alloy, plastic, stainless steel, and tool steel. It is well suited for machine shop work, fabrication, HVAC sheet metal, plumbing rough-in, and electrical panel work where a taper length profile gives added reach over a jobber-length bit without sacrificing rigidity. The straight shank fits standard drill chucks and CNC drilling spindles. Machinists, pipefitters, sheet metal workers, and maintenance technicians will find this bit applicable across a wide range of production and field tasks.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use taper length drill bit compatible with standard straight-shank drill chucks and CNC drilling spindles accepting a 0.1094 inch shank diameter. Rated for use in aluminum, brass, carbon steel, cast iron, nickel alloy, plastic, stainless steel, and tool steel per manufacturer material application data.
Install in a drill press, hand drill, or CNC spindle with a properly sized chuck before use. Secure the shank fully and verify chuck tightness before beginning a cut. Use appropriate cutting fluid when drilling stainless steel, tool steel, or nickel alloys to manage heat and extend tool life. Wear appropriate eye protection and follow applicable shop safety procedures when operating drilling equipment.
