The CLEVELAND C16805 is a taper length cobalt drill bit designed for demanding material removal in professional machining and fabrication environments. Built to Series 2575 specifications, this bit features a 1.5 mm diameter, a 135-degree split point for reduced walking and faster penetration, and a parabolic flute geometry that clears chips aggressively. The cobalt construction provides elevated heat resistance and edge retention when cutting hard or abrasive materials. Overall length is 2.992 inches with a flute length of 1.732 inches. The C16805 is rated for use across a broad range of materials including aluminum, brass, carbon steel, cast iron, nickel alloy, plastic, stainless steel, and tool steel. Secure the shank fully in a properly sized drill chuck or collet before operation. Ensure the workpiece is clamped or fixtured to prevent rotation or movement during drilling. Use cutting fluid or coolant appropriate for the workpiece material to extend tool life, particularly when drilling stainless steel or nickel alloys. Inspect the cutting edges for wear or chipping before each use; a dull or damaged bit should be replaced or reground before returning to service.
