The CLEVELAND C16722 is a heavy-duty cobalt jobber length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in tough materials. Built from M42 cobalt steel and finished with a Titanium Nitride (TiN) coating, this bit handles hardened steel, stainless, cast iron, and other abrasive metals that standard HSS bits cannot handle reliably. It measures 12 mm (0.4724 inches) in diameter with an overall length of 5.945 inches and a flute length of 3.976 inches. The 135-degree split point starts on contact without walking or requiring a center punch. Machinists, tool-and-die workers, and maintenance mechanics specify this bit for demanding production and repair applications.
The C16722 is suited for use in both CNC machining centers and manual drill presses. Its parabolic flute geometry improves chip evacuation and allows higher feed rates compared to standard spiral flutes, reducing heat buildup and extending tool life.
