The CLEVELAND C16687 is a jobber-length twist drill bit designed for heavy-duty metal drilling in professional trade and industrial applications. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel and coated with titanium nitride (TiN), this bit delivers extended cutting life in hard and abrasive materials. It features a 135-degree split point that reduces walking on contact and requires no center punch on most surfaces. The parabolic flute geometry improves chip evacuation during deep-hole drilling. At 5 inches overall length with a 3-5/8-inch flute length, it fits standard jobber-length drill chucks without modification. Diameter tolerance is held to -0.0010 to 0.0000 inches for accurate hole sizing.

This bit is suited for drilling ferrous metals, stainless steel, hardened alloys, and other difficult materials encountered in HVAC fabrication, plumbing rough-in, electrical panel work, and general mechanical assembly. The straight cylindrical shank accepts standard 3-jaw drill chucks on corded drills, drill presses, and magnetic base drills.
