The CLEVELAND C16670 is a heavy-duty cobalt jobber-length drill bit designed for drilling into steel, cast iron, and other hard ferrous materials. Built to Series 2075T specifications, it features a 135-degree split point that self-centers on contact and reduces walking without a center punch. The M42 cobalt high-speed steel substrate is coated with titanium nitride (TiN) to extend cutting life and resist heat buildup at higher feed rates. A parabolic flute geometry promotes fast chip evacuation, keeping the flute clear during deeper passes. This bit is intended for use by machinists, maintenance technicians, and trade professionals working with production or field drilling applications.
The C16670 is sized at 7/64 inches (0.1094 inches decimal) and is suited for drilling pilot holes, clearance holes, and through-holes in steel and cast iron workpieces. At 2-5/8 inches overall length with a 1-1/2-inch flute, it fits standard drill chucks and magnetic drill press setups. The straight cylindrical shank measures 7/64 inches in diameter, providing secure grip in both keyed and keyless chucks. This bit is appropriate for job site and shop use wherever right-hand cutting, parabolic-flute performance is required in the 0.1000 to 0.1500 inch diameter range.
Designed for use in steel and cast iron workpieces as specified by the manufacturer. Compatible with standard drill chucks accepting a 7/64-inch straight cylindrical shank. Suited for use in the Series 2075T application range covering decimal inch sizes from 0.1000 to 0.1500 inches.
Installation and use of this drill bit should be performed by qualified machinists or trade professionals familiar with drilling equipment and speeds appropriate for cobalt tooling in ferrous materials. Secure the workpiece before drilling and ensure the chuck is fully tightened around the straight shank before operation. Coolant-through capability is not supported on this bit; apply cutting fluid externally when drilling hard or thick stock to manage heat. Inspect the cutting edges and TiN coating before each use and replace the bit if chipping or coating wear is observed.
