Built to M42 cobalt grade standards, it features a 135-degree split point that reduces walking and requires no center punch on most surfaces. The titanium nitride (TiN) coating increases surface hardness and reduces friction, extending tool life in production drilling environments. The parabolic flute geometry improves chip evacuation, which is especially useful when drilling deep holes in steel and cast iron. Installation Notes

Install and remove drill bits only when the drill or drill press is fully powered down and the chuck is stationary. Use appropriate work-holding to secure the workpiece before drilling. Cutting fluid or coolant is recommended when drilling hardened steel or cast iron to manage heat, even though this bit does not support through-coolant delivery. Inspect the cutting edges and TiN coating for wear regularly; a dull cobalt bit generates excess heat that can anneal the workpiece surface.
