The CLEVELAND C16641 is a jobber-length twist drill bit designed for professional metalworking and fabrication applications. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel with a titanium nitride (TiN) coating, it delivers extended tool life in hard and abrasive materials. The bit measures 0.1360 inches in diameter (wire size 29) with a 135-degree split point that reduces walking and enables faster penetration without a center punch. A parabolic flute geometry improves chip evacuation and reduces heat buildup during drilling. Overall length is 2-7/8 inches with a 1-3/4 inch flute length. Machinists, tool and die technicians, and maintenance professionals install this bit in standard drill presses, CNC machines, and hand drills.
The C16641 is suited for drilling ferrous metals, stainless steel, titanium alloys, and other hard materials where standard high-speed steel bits wear prematurely. The straight-cylindrical shank accepts standard 3-jaw chucks without modification. The tapered web construction and web-thinned geometry reduce thrust requirements, making it practical for portable drill use as well as bench and production drilling. It conforms to ASME B94.11M and DIN 338 standards, making it appropriate for shops that maintain dimensional compliance requirements.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use jobber drill bit for any standard 3-jaw chuck rated for straight-cylindrical shank bits at 0.1360 inches diameter; fits drill presses, hand drills, and CNC drilling setups accepting wire-gauge size 29 tooling.
Installation and use of this drill bit should be performed by qualified machinists or maintenance technicians familiar with rotating cutting tools. Secure the shank fully in the chuck and verify runout before drilling. Always wear appropriate eye protection and follow shop safety procedures when operating drilling equipment. Do not exceed the recommended speed and feed rates for the workpiece material and bit diameter.
