The CLEVELAND C16626 is a cobalt jobber length drill bit engineered for demanding metal drilling applications. Built from M42 high-cobalt steel and coated with Titanium Nitride (TiN) for extended tool life, this bit handles hardened steels, stainless, and other abrasive materials that standard HSS tooling cannot manage efficiently. The 135-degree split point reduces walking and thrust force at the start of the cut, eliminating the need for a center punch in most setups. A parabolic flute geometry accelerates chip evacuation and reduces heat buildup in deep-hole operations. Overall length is 3.375 inches with a flute length of 2.1875 inches.
This drill bit is sized at wire gauge number 15, equivalent to 0.1800 inch diameter. It is designed for production and maintenance drilling in ferrous and non-ferrous metals, plastics, and composites where heat resistance and hole accuracy are priorities. The straight-cylindrical shank at 0.1800 inch diameter seats securely in standard three-jaw drill chucks and quick-change holders. Right-hand cutting direction suits conventional drill press, hand drill, and CNC drilling operations. Typical users include machinists, millwrights, tool-and-die workers, and maintenance technicians working in heavy industrial environments.
Designed as a heavy-duty OEM-style replacement or direct-use jobber length drill bit for applications requiring a 0.1800 inch diameter hole, conforming to ASME B94.11M and DIN 338 specifications.
Installation is performed by machinists or qualified maintenance personnel using a standard drill press, hand drill, or CNC machine equipped with a three-jaw or collet chuck. Secure the shank fully in the chuck before operation and verify the spindle speed matches the material being drilled. Always wear appropriate eye protection and secure the workpiece before drilling. Inspect the cutting edges before each use and replace the bit if chipping or excessive wear is observed.
