The CLEVELAND C16536 is a jobber-length drill bit designed for demanding metalworking applications where standard high-speed steel tooling falls short. Built from M42 cobalt steel with a gold oxide coating, this bit handles cast iron, stainless steel, non-ferrous metals, and general steel stock without premature edge failure. The 135-degree split point starts on contact without a center punch and reduces walking on hard surfaces. A parabolic flute geometry clears chips aggressively, reducing heat buildup during deep-hole drilling. The straight-cylindrical shank seats in standard drill chucks. This is a heavy-duty tool specified to ASME B94.11M and DIN 338 standards.
The C16536 is sized at wire gauge 34, equivalent to 0.1110 inches decimal, placing it in a range commonly used for tapping pilot holes, precision clearance holes, and close-tolerance work in fabrication, maintenance, and production environments. The 1.5-inch flute length and 2.625-inch overall length are appropriate for most standard jobber-length setups. Machinists, millwrights, pipefitters, and maintenance technicians working with stainless or cast iron will find this bit suited for hand-held drills, drill presses, and light CNC work where cobalt tooling is specified.
Designed as a jobber-length replacement or production-stock drill bit for applications requiring wire gauge 34 (0.1110 inches) diameter in cast iron, non-ferrous metal, stainless steel, and general steel. Compatible with any standard straight-shank drill chuck accepting a 0.1110-inch shank diameter.
Install in a clean, properly sized drill chuck and tighten securely before use. Secure the workpiece firmly to prevent movement during drilling. Use appropriate cutting fluid or coolant when drilling stainless steel or cast iron to extend tool life and maintain dimensional accuracy. Inspect the cutting edges before each use and replace the bit if chipping or dulling is evident.
