The CLEVELAND C15915 is a cobalt jobber-length drill bit designed for demanding metal drilling applications, including superalloys, stainless steel, and other hard-to-machine materials. Ground to a 135-degree split point, it self-centers on entry and reduces walking without a center punch. The M42 cobalt high-speed steel construction resists heat buildup at higher cutting speeds. An oxide coating adds surface hardness and mild lubricity. The fast-spiral, 2-flute design clears chips efficiently, while web thinning reduces thrust force at the tip. This bit suits machinists, pipefitters, and fabricators who drill hard metals in production or field environments.
The C15915 is built for right-hand cutting in a straight-cylindrical shank configuration, making it compatible with standard keyed, keyless, and collet-style drill chucks. At 1/8 inch diameter with a 7/8-inch flute length and 2-3/4-inch overall length, it fits compact drill presses, hand drills, and CNC setups. The Series 3780 is rated as a heavy-duty line, conforming to ASME B94.11M and NAS specification designations. Primary workpiece material is listed as superalloy, though the cobalt composition handles a broad range of ferrous and hard non-ferrous metals.
Designed as a heavy-duty OEM-style jobber drill bit for use with standard 1/8-inch straight-cylindrical shank drill chucks; primary workpiece material is superalloy per manufacturer specification.
Installation and use should be performed by a qualified machinist or tradesperson familiar with metal drilling safety practices. Secure the workpiece fully before drilling and use appropriate cutting fluid or lubricant when drilling superalloys or stainless steel to extend bit life. Inspect the cutting edges before each use and replace if chipping or dullness is observed. Follow your machine tool manufacturer guidelines for speed and feed rates appropriate to the workpiece material and bit diameter.
