The CLEVELAND C14832 is a screw machine length cobalt drill bit designed for high-productivity drilling in tough materials. Built to Series 2133 standards, it carries an 11.5 mm (0.4528 inch) diameter with a 135-degree split point and web-thinned geometry that reduces walking and cutting resistance at entry. The M42 cobalt construction handles heat buildup better than standard high-speed steel, making it well suited for interrupted cuts and harder workpiece materials. Right-hand cut with a straight-cylindrical shank, this bit fits standard drill chucks without adapters. It is intended for use by machinists, maintenance technicians, and metalworking tradespeople who need consistent, repeatable hole quality in production or field settings.
This bit is optimized for drilling alloy steel and aluminum, which are common materials in mechanical, structural, and fabrication work. The screw machine length format provides a shorter overall length of 95 mm (3.74 inches), which improves rigidity and reduces deflection in close-quarters drilling on machine tools, drill presses, and handheld power drills. The 47 mm spiral flute length supports efficient chip evacuation in both through-hole and blind-hole applications. The parallel web and regular spiral combine to give predictable feed rates across a range of RPM settings appropriate to the workpiece material.
Designed for use in standard straight-shank drill chucks on drill presses, CNC machining centers, and handheld power drills. Rated for primary workpiece materials including alloy steel and aluminum. Fits within the 11.00 to 13.50 mm drill bit size range of Series 2133.
Installation is performed by machinists and metalworking technicians. Secure the shank fully in the chuck and verify runout before drilling. Power down and de-energize any machine tool before changing bits. Select cutting speed and feed rate according to workpiece material and bit diameter to avoid overheating the cobalt substrate; do not use this bit dry on materials that require cutting fluid without applying appropriate lubrication.
