The CLEVELAND C14816 is a cobalt screw machine length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in demanding shop and field applications. Built to ASME B94.11M and DIN 1897 standards, it features a 135-degree split point for fast penetration and reduced walking on entry. The M42 cobalt construction provides heat resistance and edge retention when drilling hard or abrasive materials. At 89 mm overall length with a 43 mm flute length, this short-body drill fits tight clearance setups where standard or jobber-length bits cannot reach. Two right-hand spiral flutes evacuate chips efficiently throughout the cut. It is sized at 10.5 mm diameter with a straight-cylindrical shank and a diameter tolerance of plus 0.0000 to minus 0.0010 inches.
This bit is suited for production machining, tool rooms, and maintenance shops working with alloy steel, aluminum, and other metals that demand a heavy-duty cutting tool. The screw machine length body reduces deflection and improves hole accuracy in short-entry setups common on drill presses, CNC machining centers, and turret lathes. Its web-thinned, parallel-web geometry reduces thrust and extends tool life across repeated hole cycles. Series 2133 is a heavy-duty grade classification intended for high-cycle production environments.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit screw machine length drill bit for standard straight-cylindrical shank drill chucks and collet holders accepting a 10.5 mm shank.
Installation and use should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician familiar with rotating cutting tools and applicable shop safety procedures. Secure the straight-cylindrical shank firmly in a properly sized chuck or collet before operation and confirm runout is within acceptable limits. Do not exceed the recommended spindle speed for the workpiece material and bit diameter. Inspect the cutting edges and point geometry before each use and remove the bit from service if chipping or wear is observed.
